Good News! Yabloko Has Been Allowed to Take Part in the State Duma Elections. It Is the Only Party in Russia with an Anti-War Position

By a unanimous decision, the Central Election Commission registered Yabloko for the upcoming State Duma elections. The federal party list includes 269 people, while another 135 candidates have been nominated in single-mandate districts.

“For the first time in the past five years, Russian citizens have a real opportunity to vote for peace and freedom, to speak out in favor of a ceasefire agreement in a lawful and safe way. Thank you to everyone who believes in us, believes in a peaceful and free future for Russia,” party chairman Nikolai Rybakov wrote in his Telegram channel.

The party notes that the campaign will not be easy, but adds that it is ready to go all the way, “to demand peace and an end to repression.”

Earlier, we wrote about how the Russian authorities are putting pressure on Yabloko ahead of the elections, which will take place in September. You can read that piece here.
