In at least two Russian regions, participants in the war against Ukraine have begun being refueled without waiting in line.

🥸 In Zabaykalsky Krai, “SVO veterans” and their family members were allowed to be served out of turn at a number of gas stations. The decision was made amid an acute fuel shortage: the region has a 15-liter limit per car, and at many stations gasoline runs out before noon.

🥸 A similar measure was also introduced in the Ternovsky district of Voronezh Region. There, war participants are sold gasoline without waiting in line at Rosneft gas stations upon presentation of supporting documents. The limit is 10 liters.

Local residents are already comparing what is happening to the emergence of an “estate-based society,” where access to scarce goods depends on status.
