Turkey deported activist Ariadna Litvinova to Russia. In Russia she is accused of “discrediting” the army over an anti-war inscription

Turkey deported Russian citizen Ariadna Litvinova, who had been put on a wanted list on charges of “discrediting” the army over anti-war inscriptions. According to the Telegram channel “Prison Lawyer,” Litvinova was sent to Russia on July 4, and there has been no contact with her since then.

Representatives of “Prison Lawyer” told the outlet “Vot Tak” that Litvinova was likely detained upon arrival at Vnukovo Airport and is being taken to St. Petersburg, where she will be placed in a pretrial detention center.

Ariadna Litvinova was detained in St. Petersburg in February 2025 for the inscriptions “Murderers. Peace to Ukraine. Freedom for political prisoners” on banners of a pro-war exhibition near the arch of the General Staff building.

A case was initially opened against Litvinova under the article on vandalism; later, the charge was changed to “discrediting” the army. She was sent to a pretrial detention center, but later the measure of restraint was changed to a ban on certain actions. After being released, Litvinova left Russia and went to Turkey, where her father lives. In Russia, she was placed on a wanted list.
