Up to 15% of the Digital Development Ministry's staff may be laid off; the possibility of transferring some areas of the information security department to the FSB is under consideration, RBC reports

Sources in the telecom and IT markets told the outlet that two deputy ministers are also planning to leave the ministry: Sergey Kuchushev and Alexander Shoitov. Shoitov oversees the information security department; in addition, the possible departure of Yevgeny Khasin, acting director of the cybersecurity support department, is being considered.

One of the sources says the optimization of the ministry's structure began about a month and a half ago; as part of this process, the possibility of reducing the number of civil servants by up to 15% is being considered.

In particular, the possibility of redistributing the areas of activity of the information security department among other departments of the Digital Development Ministry, as well as the FSB and the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control (FSTEC), is being considered, two RBC sources say.
