Court bans the Yaplakal portal

The Chertanovo District Court of Moscow has banned one of the oldest entertainment portals, Yaplakal, in the territory of the Russian Federation, the outlet Verstka noticed.

The district prosecutor's office demanded that the portal be banned after its staff conducted an inspection of compliance with legislation in the sphere of interethnic relations.

The prosecutor's office concluded that materials on the Yaplakal portal and two other joke websites contain "statements that can be qualified as degrading human dignity, as well as aimed at discrimination and insulting persons on the basis of nationality and race."
