The Verkh-Isetsky Court of Yekaterinburg increased the sentences of 25-year-olds Ivan Koryukov and Alexander Cherepanov to 7.5 and 8 years in a maximum-security penal colony, reports Mediazona.

The sentence was handed down in the case of their escape from a Yekaterinburg pretrial detention center and the “theft of items from a summer house.”

🔵Cherepanov and Koryukov were detained in May 2023 near a military enlistment office in Yekaterinburg; according to investigators, they were planning to set it on fire. A military court sentenced Koryukov to 9.5 years in a penal colony and Cherepanov to 7 years. In September they escaped from the pretrial detention center and were later detained.

Mediazona writes that the Federal Penitentiary Service and its subsidiary structures filed 18 lawsuits against Cherepanov and Koryukov, including a suit to recover the costs of their capture.
