Honestly, I do not know whether Ukraine will strike on May 9, and if so, where. I do not want to try to guess.

Democracies, unlike dictatorships, have one constraint that they impose on themselves: the need to remain within moral boundaries.

I think that by now no one has any doubt that Ukraine has every capability to do in Belgorod, Kursk, and Bryansk what Russia is doing in Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia.

In Moscow, no; in frontline cities, yes. But Ukraine, for a number of reasons, does not do this.

Whether these are moral reasons or some other strategic ones, for example risk assessments, I do not know.

Likewise, I do not know whether Ukraine would keep itself within these boundaries if it had nuclear weapons and missile potential proportionate to Russia's.

Because it is hard to just sit and watch as, day after day now, your opponent in broad daylight destroys civilians in your cities with impunity.

In general, I do not know how it will be this time. But I do know for certain that the more deaths Russia brings to Ukraine, the more corpses come back to Russia. Simply because that is how it works; it cannot work any other way.
