The Digital Development Ministry proposes using AI to increase mobile internet speed


Izvestia writes about this, citing Ministry of Digital Development materials “submitted for interagency approval.”


The ministry, in particular, proposes using AI to increase the capacity of telecom networks, identify calls from scammers, protect against DDoS attacks, and manage energy consumption.


“Russian telecom operators have already implemented pilot projects to introduce AI-based network management systems, which are demonstrating a 20–30% increase in network capacity and a 50% reduction in delays,” the outlet quotes from the ministry’s materials.


It is reported that the ministry’s proposals could be incorporated into the communications industry development strategy through 2035.
