Novaya Gazeta journalist Oleg Roldugin partially admitted guilt in the case over the use of personal data

This became known during the court hearing on extending Roldugin’s arrest, Mediazona reports.

He partially admits guilt. He indicates that he did indeed collect data through the [Telegram] bot “Sherlock.” He carried out the collection and storage through the messenger. He did not consider it illegal. If he had known, he would not have done such a thing,

the judge read from the journalist’s interrogation record. The court ultimately extended the journalist’s arrest at the investigators’ request.

Oleg Roldugin is a co-founder of the newspaper Sobesednik and a columnist for Novaya Gazeta. He was detained in early April. At the same time, Novaya Gazeta’s newsroom was searched, and the search lasted more than 13 hours.
