11 killed, 46 injured in Kyiv as a result of a massive missile strike
11 people were killed and 46 injured in Kyiv as a result of a massive missile strike, the city’s mayor said.
Several residential buildings were damaged (Photos and videos 1–4). The most severe consequences were recorded in the Podilskyi district, where a nine-story apartment building was hit.
In the city of Vyshneve in Kyiv Region, an evacuation was announced because of the threat of a repeat detonation, local authorities said (Videos 4–9).
Russia’s Defense Ministry confirmed carrying out the strike, calling it a “response to terrorist attacks by the Kyiv regime on civilian infrastructure on Russian territory.” According to the ministry, the targets hit were “military-industrial enterprises, fuel and energy facilities in the city of Kyiv and Kyiv Region, as well as military airfield infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions.”
