Ukraine says it struck the Omsk refinery, the largest in Russia. Telegram channels are posting video of the attacked plant

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that Ukrainian troops damaged a primary oil processing unit at the Omsk refinery.

Earlier, Omsk region governor Vitaly Khotsenko said that the region had come under attack by Ukrainian drones; some of them reached “the northern industrial hub of Omsk.” The Omsk refinery is located in the northern part of the city. The plant had not been attacked before.

The Omsk refinery is Russia’s largest by volume of oil processed. It is the ninth of Russia’s top 10 oil refineries that the AFU have attacked. The only top-10 facility not yet attacked is the Angarsk Petrochemical Company in Irkutsk region.

Updated. Vitaly Khotsenko confirmed that the refinery in Omsk had been attacked. According to the governor, there were no dead or injured.
