Police detained dozens of people, including minors, in Kitay-Gorod. They were beaten and shocked with stun guns

On July 3, police detained several dozen people in central Moscow. The raid took place in the Kitay-Gorod area. According to those detained, security forces beat everyone indiscriminately, and used stun guns on some of them. People were questioned about what they were doing in Kitay-Gorod and whether they had used drugs or alcohol. Witnesses say there were minors among those detained, including 12- and 13-year-old teenagers. What served as the formal pretext for the raid is unknown. In total, police detained several dozen people, who were later released without any reports being filed. We recount what witnesses say happened.
