State Duma deputies promised early bonuses ahead of the election

At the closed-door part of the State Duma plenary session on July 7, lower house speaker Vyacheslav Volodin promised deputies early payment of their annual bonuses, as early as the beginning of September. This was reported by Vedomosti, citing its sources.

This means lawmakers will receive the money before the end of the powers of the eighth convocation and before the election, which is scheduled for September 20.

According to Volodin, this became possible because savings of 2 billion rubles had accumulated in the State Duma budget.
