VGIK promised to admit students to state-funded places without competition in exchange for a contract with the UAV troops

The cinematography department of VGIK published an announcement about recruiting applicants to a “special group” in the workshop of director Mikhail Agranovich. To be admitted to a state-funded place in the 2027 academic year without exams, an applicant must sign a one-year contract with the Defense Ministry for service in the unmanned systems troops.

The university also guarantees a free dormitory place. In the announcement published on VKontakte, it is stated that service in the UAV troops will be treated as equivalent to conscript service. After its completion, contract soldiers will receive combat veteran status with full social support measures.
