The Second Western District Military Court sentenced Varazh Manukyan to 22 years in a penal colony. He was found guilty under articles covering a terrorist attack and the illegal trafficking of explosive substances. The court also confiscated his car and imposed a fine of 500,000 rubles.
According to investigators, Manukyan arranged the transport and transfer to other participants of the improvised explosive device used to carry out the terrorist attack.
The terrorist attack at the Alye Parusa residential complex took place in February 2025, when an improvised device exploded in the lobby of the entrance of a residential building. Armen Sarkisyan, the founder of the Arbat battalion, was killed. The explosive device was in the possession of another participant in the attack, Paruyr Matevosyan, who approached Sarkisyan. He was killed in the explosion.
