Over the past week, staff at SIZO-1 in Gorno-Altaysk issued political prisoner Georgy Paramoshin five disciplinary penalties at once. This was reported on her Telegram channel by lawyer Natalia Tikhonova.

In just one day, the author of the “NATSDEM” channel, who was sentenced to 8 years in a penal colony for “extremism,” received three reprimands, and later two more reports were drawn up. One of the formal pretexts was this: the pretrial detention center administration demanded that he request prison clothing through written applications, although they are required to issue it automatically.

“That’s how things are... So if I disappear, don’t worry — I’m most likely in the punishment cell,” the prisoner writes in a letter.

“Based on the fact that the head of this institution, in a conversation with me, used phrases along the lines of ‘we know how to deal with people like that,’ nothing good can be expected from this institution. I hope the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Altai Republic at least accidentally comes across this post somewhere and pays attention to the behavior of the administration of SIZO-1 in Gorno-Altaysk,” Tikhonova writes.

Earlier, Paramoshin was placed on preventive monitoring as someone “prone to escape and attack staff.” Because of the penalties, he was deprived of the possibility of a long visit. His defender notes that she now intends to challenge the actions of the SIZO administration in court.
