In Ufa, a 67-year-old activist was arrested over a picket in defense of the Bashkir language in schoolsSixty-seven-year-old Irek Agishev, an activist with the Aktamyr center, was sentenced to three days of arrest. The reason was a picket in support of education in the Bashkir language. This was reported by the outlet 7x7.
Five people took part in the action, which took place on July 3. They came out with signs reading "Minister of Education of the Republic of Bashkortostan I.M. Mavletberdin - resign!", "Let us restore national education in Bashkir schools of the Republic of Bashkortostan" and "In a federal state, education cannot be uniform!".
Security forces considered the picket an unauthorized mass event and drew up a protocol against Agishev. The activist did not admit guilt. According to him, he was holding a solo picket. The activist was probably released in the courtroom, since the court counted the arrest term from the moment of detention.
