The corresponding lawsuit was filed with Moscow’s Kuzminsky Court, RBC writes.

The supervisory agency is seeking to have the property transfer deals declared invalid and to transfer the assets into state ownership, the outlet reports, citing sources.

The defendants in the case are listed as organizations registered in Austria, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Finland, and Sweden, as well as the Jehovah’s Witnesses governing body in the United States.

The Prosecutor General’s Office is seeking to have donation and gift agreements concluded in 2016-2017 between Russian Jehovah’s Witnesses religious organizations and foreign entities declared null and void.
