In Yekaterinburg, a historian who studied political repression in the Urals was arrested
Security forces detained repression researcher Oleg Novoselov, the outlet “66.Ru” reports, citing law enforcement sources.
The court’s press service told the outlet that the historian was arrested on suspicion of “inducing or recruiting to assist terrorist activity.” Novoselov was also added to Rosfinmonitoring’s list of “terrorists and extremists.”
The historian studied repression, including in the archives of Sverdlovsk Region, the outlet It's My City writes. On his Telegram channel, Novoselov published data about the period of Stalinist terror.
