‼️“Not dead yet?” — this is how the political officer of the 102nd Motorized Rifle Regiment, Svyatoslav Yachmenev, greeted serviceman Aleksandr Bondarenko after yet another attempt to get treatment and undergo a military medical board review.

Bondarenko says that after being wounded and developing health problems, instead of treatment the command repeatedly listed him as AWOL. For seeking medical help, he was sent to the commandant’s office and thrown into a “pit.”

In the fall of 2024, when commanders with the callsigns “Grad” and “Vympel” tried to take away his documents and phone, Aleksandr refused. As punishment, they stripped him down to his underwear and threw him into the pit for five days.

Despite his wounds and the loss of hearing in one ear, military medical commissions kept declaring him fit for service without restrictions. In the end, after his attempts to get justice, a criminal case was opened against him and he was reported as AWOL.

These are just a few small sketches ahead of mobilization in Russia, so that those Russian men who still haven’t gotten it after 5 years can get at least a little familiar with what awaits them in the Russian army.
