The FSB reported thwarting an “unprecedented series of terrorist attacks” targeting Russian military facilities and service members.

A 25-year-old Russian woman has been detained on suspicion of preparing an attempt on a senior Defense Ministry official. It is claimed that in 2024 the woman was recruited by Ukrainian special services “via the WhatsApp messenger” — her handler kept in contact with her, “passing it off as a romantic relationship.”

Investigators believe she gathered information on possible targets in Moscow and St. Petersburg, and also rented an apartment for the perpetrator of the terrorist attack. She now faces punishment up to life imprisonment.
