Because of the fuel crisis, Russian regions are introducing a license-plate-based refueling system. Where these restrictions are already in effect

The fuel crisis in Russia is continuing. In many regions, there are limits on the number of liters that can be purchased at one time. These are being imposed both by the authorities and by gas station chains. Fuel is not available at all stations, and at those where it is available, long lines are forming. Some regions have decided to switch to a system of selling gasoline based on vehicle license plates: on even-numbered days, cars whose plates begin (or end) with an even digit may refuel; on odd-numbered days, those with an odd digit may do so. See the list of regions where such a system has already been introduced on Meduza.
