Trump did not call Putin after meeting with Zelensky, even though he had promised to. “The president of the Russian Federation is always happy to talk,” the Kremlin reminded

Donald Trump did not call Vladimir Putin after his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Dmitry Peskov said.

“Mr. Trump, apparently, was very busy after all the contacts in Ankara, so no one called yesterday,” Putin’s press secretary said, adding that the president of the Russian Federation is “always happy to talk.”

Trump met with Zelensky on July 8 during the NATO summit in Ankara. Before the meeting, he publicly said that afterward he would call Putin. At the meeting itself, Trump promised to grant Ukraine a license to produce Patriot missiles, and also welcomed long-range AFU strikes on Russian territory, calling them “an escalation that could lead to the end of the war.”
