Russia’s Foreign Ministry has begun drafting a bill to introduce exit visas, reports Mozhem Obyasnit

A source in Russian diplomatic circles told the outlet about the preparation of the relevant package of documents, and a source close to the presidential administration confirmed it.

The ministry is proposing to make travel to “unfriendly” countries possible only as part of tourist groups of at least ten people, with escorts and along an approved route. This is planned to be done “for the safety of Russian citizens.”

Individual tourism to other countries may be allowed, but the list of those countries has not yet been determined.

“But an exit visa will be required in any case. It should not be like it is now: you bought a ticket and flew out. The state must give permission,” an anonymous source familiar with the course of the discussions told Mozhem Obyasnit.
