Ukraine’s chief negotiator Umerov has arrived in the United States

According to Reuters and RBC-Ukraine, Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov has arrived in Miami. He is planning to meet with U.S. officials against the backdrop of ongoing talks on ending Russia’s war against Ukraine, the agency notes.

Update. At the meeting with representatives of the U.S. president, Umerov will discuss humanitarian issues, security issues, as well as the “activation” of the negotiation process to end the war, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky said.

Peace talks between Ukraine and Russia are taking place with U.S. mediation. In recent months, they have been frozen, including because of the war between Iran and the United States.
