The U.S. will try to resume talks between Russia and Ukraine in the coming weeks, Secretary of State Rubio says

He said this on Fox News.

"We also understand that both sides have fairly clear 'red lines.' And the president told his team: 'If you see an opportunity to be a force that can give some momentum to peace talks, let's do it,'" Marco Rubio noted.

He did not give guarantees that Washington's diplomatic efforts would be successful.

🔵The last round of trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine, and the United States took place on February 17-18, 2026, in Geneva. The next meeting had been scheduled for March 5 in Abu Dhabi, but after the start of the war between the United States and Israel and Iran, it was postponed to an unspecified date.
