A Russian technology publication, "Durov's Code," changed its name to "Kod.ru" after Pavel Durov's name was added to the list of terrorists on July 30.

The editors of "Kod.ru" emphasized that they started out as a small media outlet covering Durov's projects, but over time expanded their topics and audience, so the idea of rebranding had been a long time coming.

"We stressed that Pavel Durov personally has no connection to our media outlet, and at some point keeping his name in the title simply became dishonest. It confused readers and created false associations. It would be silly to deny that this week's events sped up the rebranding process, but it is also obvious that it would have been impossible to carry out a project of this scale in a day or a week. We are now Kod.ru, the same publication, but with a more concise name."
