While Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov continues searching the African continent for allies of the “nuclear superpower” in its confrontation with Ukraine, we continue publishing lists of mercenaries from the countries he visits.

Today it is Burundi’s turn, a small East African state from which Russian recruiters have taken at least 32 people to fight in someone else’s war. As with other African countries, this is a preliminary figure, and the list includes only confirmed names. The real number of Burundians whom Lavrov and Co. have sent to die far from home is much higher.

In total, we have personal data on nearly 3,000 Africans from 40 countries on the continent who signed contracts with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Of them, the deaths of nearly every sixth have been confirmed. Add to this the African youth whom Russia uses as cheap and rightless labor in the production of “Shaheds,” and we get a clear picture that Moscow is pursuing a bloody neocolonial policy toward most African countries.
