In Novosibirsk, the prosecutor's office and Roskomnadzor launched an inspection over a Victory Day banner featuring an orangutan

This was reported to TASS by the regional prosecutor's office.

The banners featuring an orangutan named Batu were put up in the city by the local zoo.

"We're a zoo. We have a lot of monkeys in general. It's logical when animals are doing the поздравления. I don't see anything seditious in this banner. A great many animals took part in the war. Dogs and dolphins alike. Many animals that were evacuated to zoos toward Siberia were preserved back then. So animals, too, are grateful that they were saved," Novosibirsk Zoo director Andrei Shilo explained to Daily Storm.

According to him, putting up the poster was his personal initiative.
