The Russian Defense Ministry said that the ceasefire announced by Putin will last from midnight on May 8 until May 10.
“During the specified period, all groupings of Russian troops in the special military operation zone will completely cease combat operations. At the same time, strikes by missile forces and artillery, long-range high-precision sea- and air-launched weapons, and attack unmanned aerial vehicles will cease. We call on the Ukrainian side to follow this example. If the Ukrainian Armed Forces violate the ceasefire in the SVO zone, as well as in the event of attempts to strike populated areas and facilities in the territory of Russian regions, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will deliver an appropriate response,” the statement says.
The ministry also once again threatened strikes on central Kyiv if the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack the parade in Moscow.
“We remind you that in the event of attempts by the Kyiv regime to disrupt the celebration of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Moscow, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will launch a massive missile strike on central Kyiv. Once again, we warn the civilian population of Kyiv and employees of foreign diplomatic missions of the need to leave the city in a timely manner,” the statement says
