The Kremlin will not allow foreign journalists to attend the May 9 parade in Moscow

Only Russian media controlled by the regime

will be able to attend.

The German agency dpa and the magazine Der Spiegel reported this, citing the administration of the president of the Russian Federation. Invitations were also revoked for the media companies ARD, ZDF (Germany), Sky (United Kingdom), the AFP agency (France), the broadcasters Rai (Italy) and NHK (Japan).

Earlier, the Russian authorities had confirmed the accreditation of Western journalists and sent them a schedule of events in central Moscow for Victory Day. The abrupt reversal happened for the first time in the entire history of the parade in Russia, Der Spiegel notes

The Kremlin could have avoided revoking the accreditations of Western journalists and then simply eliminated the witnesses to the "parade."

Gather all those foreign scribblers together and pick them off behind the mausoleum.

The Kremlin has nothing left to lose anyway. If another dozen "gentlemen with notebooks" end up lying atop the mountains of corpses piled up by Putin, nothing will essentially change.

The end is the same regardless.
