Activist and Legislative Assembly candidate Yaroslav Kostrov detained in St. Petersburg
In St. Petersburg, security forces detained activist and Legislative Assembly candidate from A Just Russia, Yaroslav Kostrov. He reported this on his Telegram channel.
Candidates running in single-mandate districts can submit documents to the territorial election commission through July 18 inclusive. We’re not hinting at anything. Apparently, it’s just a coincidence!

Kostrov is an urban preservation activist and a member of the movement “Central District for a Comfortable Living Environment.” Fontanka writes that Kostrov was detained for “spreading links to banned social networks (the article on displaying extremist symbols).”
🔵Earlier, St. Petersburg security forces also detained regional CPRF deputy Ivan Apostolevsky and urban preservation activist Oleg Mukhin. They were later arrested under a similar article on displaying “extremist symbols.”
