Zelensky: Russia is "not even pretending" to observe a ceasefire. Russia's Defense Ministry: we are carrying out retaliatory strikes

Russia and Ukraine accused each other of continuing hostilities after the start of the "truce," which Moscow declared unilaterally from midnight.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his address that on Russia's side there was not even "an imitation attempt to cease fire at the front."

The Russian Defense Ministry, for its part, said that from midnight all Russian troop groupings had "completely ceased conducting combat operations." The Ukrainian Armed Forces, the ministry said, continued to launch strikes, and the Russian military was "responding in kind to violations of the truce."

The Truce Opened With Strikes

Moscow declared a truce, and both sides reported strikes continuing immediately.

The ceasefire worked only in the briefing again.
