▶️ Who Artemy Doronin is

Artemy is an ordinary schoolboy from St. Petersburg. He was 14 when OMON came to his home. Before his arrest, Artemy was learning to play the guitar, went hunting with his father, was interested in the history of the USSR, and had a side job as a cleaner at a cafe in the Hermitage. His social media subscriptions included memes, blogger Vlad A4, and a public page about non-touristy St. Petersburg.

▶️ Criminal prosecution

According to the investigation, Artemy joined a Telegram chat of the Freedom of Russia Legion and later, together with another teenager, threw a bottle with an incendiary mixture at a relay cabinet at a railway station. According to Artemy himself, a stranger suggested that he set fire to a locomotive. And if he refused, the stranger threatened to hand over their correspondence to the FSB, so the schoolboy decided to create the “appearance of an arson attack.”

The damage amounted to 758 rubles and 18 kopecks, which his parents compensated. Nevertheless, in May 2024, a court sentenced Artemy to four years in a juvenile correctional colony under the article on a terrorist attack. While already in custody, another case was opened against him, under the article on participation in mass riots.

Artemy has ADHD, so it is doubly difficult for him in the pre-trial detention center. The local regime, with a two-hour walk and a lot of free time while locked up, is hard for him. Recently, Artemy was also transferred to strict detention conditions.
