The resort season on Russia’s Black Sea coast is once again under threat of collapse. Last year in Anapa, beach vacations were banned because of a fuel oil spill after two tankers crashed. In 2026, the restrictions were lifted, but tons of petroleum products ended up in the sea again — this time because of Ukrainian Armed Forces drone attacks on the refinery in Tuapse.
