Russia’s Foreign Ministry was “outraged” that Zelensky was given a “platform to voice threats” in Yerevan

Armenian Ambassador Gurgen Arsenyan was summoned to Russia’s Foreign Ministry over Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s speech at the European Political Community summit in Yerevan.

“The head of the diplomatic mission was told of the categorical unacceptability of providing in Armenia, as part of recent events under the auspices of the EU, a ‘platform’ to the leader of the Kyiv Nazi regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, for voicing terrorist threats against Russia,” the Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement said.

Moscow, the statement says, is experiencing “justified outrage” over Zelensky’s speech in Yerevan. In its statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry does not specify exactly which threats by the leader of Ukraine it is referring to.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, commenting on Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to Yerevan, said that Armenia is not Russia’s ally “on the issue of Ukraine.”
