The Federal Protective Service has tightened its requirements for people meeting with Vladimir Putin. Now, according to a source cited by “Mozhem Obyasnit,” officials are forbidden from wearing wristwatches during meetings with the Russian president.

Journalists at “Mozhem Obyasnit” studied footage of Putin’s meetings with Russian officials and found that the officials indeed had no watches on their wrists.

An exception, the outlet’s source said, is made for those Putin knows well.

“They also hand over their phones, but the watch thing doesn’t apply to them, at least not yet. The smaller fry aren’t allowed anything anymore,” he claims.

For example, Rostec head Sergei Chemezov wore a watch at a recent meeting with Putin.
