Trump will back Lindsey Graham’s Russia sanctions bill after his death, CNN reports, citing a White House source.
The approval came a day after Graham’s sudden death, which will likely make it easier to advance the bill Graham had been working on since April 2025.
Today, Richard Blumenthal (Democrat, co-author of the bill together with Graham) said that today he plans to speak with Senate Republican leader John Thune about the bill’s final preparation and the timeline for bringing it to a vote.
The bill provides for 500% secondary tariffs on Russia’s trading partners that buy oil, gas, uranium, and other resources from it.
