Well then. Russian oil refining keeps falling and in July reached a record since March 2005 (!) level of 3.91 million bpd, Bloomberg reports, citing EA Analytics.

In 2025, Russia processed an average of 5.3 million bpd.

The drop in refining led to a ban on exports of most types of fuel, including gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel.

At the end of June, Rosstat classified data on Russian refining. EA Analytics’ data is based on daily monitoring of crude oil supply chains, from satellite images to real-time trade flows.

Refining Falls, and the Ban Arrives First

Oil refining in July fell to its lowest since March 2005.
