Muslims in captivity are a special subject, one that is very uncomfortable for the Russian authorities. While in Ukrainian POW camps, the same Caucasians can compare how their "Motherland" treats them and how those it appointed as their enemies treat them. And this comparison turns out far from favorable to the Russian Federation.

In Ukrainian captivity, Muslims for some reason receive more freedom and respect than in the huge "multinational" state. They have the opportunity to observe their traditions, pray, and hold conversations for which in the Russian Federation they are immediately branded "extremist."

Adam, a veteran of the Russian-Chechen wars, regularly visits Caucasian prisoners of war in a POW camp in Ukraine. In conversations with them, he tries to understand their motivation and explain to them that this is not their war. To open their eyes to the fact that no matter how much the Russian authorities talk about respect for all peoples and faiths, they will be the first to send the same Muslims, regardless of nationality, to the slaughter.

Where Captivity Gives More Than Home

In Ukrainian captivity, Muslims got more freedom than they did at home.

Multinational pride ended in branding and slaughter again.
