On social media people have started collecting drinking water for residents of northern Crimea

The shortage of drinking water in Crimea is linked to Ukrainian strikes on energy facilities that began in June: power outages are stopping pumping stations from operating. The problem is most acute in the north of the peninsula.

One of the organizers of the collection said that on July 14 he handed out a ton of drinking water in Dzhankoi in 20 minutes. “I arrived in a residential neighborhood, stopped near a supermarket, and opened the car. At first I offered water to a few passersby, and then word of mouth spread quickly,” he said.
