Trump Announces a Three-Day Truce Between Russia and Ukraine, and a 1,000-for-1,000 Prisoner Exchange

I am pleased to announce that there will be a THREE-DAY TRUCE (May 9, 10, and 11) in the war between Russia and Ukraine.

The celebrations in Russia are dedicated to Victory Day, but equally so in Ukraine, since they too were a major part of and factor in World War II.

This truce will include a complete cessation of all combat operations (kinetic activity), as well as an exchange of 1,000 prisoners from each side.

This request was made by me personally, and I greatly appreciate its support by President Vladimir Putin and President Vladimir Zelensky. I hope this will mark the beginning of the end of a very long, bloody, and difficult war.

Negotiations to end this major conflict, the biggest since World War II, are ongoing, and we are moving closer to the goal with each passing day, Trump wrote.
