President of the “International Association of Private Detectives” sentenced to 12 years in a maximum-security penal colony in a case over cooperation with foreign intelligence services

The St. Petersburg City Court sentenced 54-year-old Andrei Matushkin, the founder of the “International Association of Private Detectives,” to 12 years in a maximum-security penal colony in a treason case.

As Sotavision writes, the trial was held behind closed doors, and Matushkin admitted guilt.

Earlier, investigators had accused the private detective of transferring state-secret information abroad. Security forces also suspected him of ties to foreign intelligence and of “assisting in carrying out its tasks” in Russia.

🔵Matushkin was detained and arrested in October 2025.
