Conflict with Syrskyi and Zelensky’s offer. Outgoing Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov spoke at a briefing
Here is what he said:
✹ I have worked on the president’s team since 2019 and remained the last minister from the first government. For seven years, I did not build my own political career.
✹ Zelensky offered that I become his adviser, but I refused.
✹ When the president said that he did not plan to dismiss Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, I said that I would learn to work with him. But Syrskyi is not ready to talk about problems. He spins intrigues. Instead of coming up with how to defeat Russia, he came up with how to split the country.
✹ If we want to defeat the Russian Federation asymmetrically, with minimal losses, Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrii Hnatov need to be sent into retirement.
