Russian recruits survive 30 minutes on the battlefield, CIA director says

“Our intelligence matches some reports from open sources that you may have seen on Ukraine: the average life expectancy of a Russian recruit right now, upon arriving on the battlefield in Ukraine, is estimated at 20 to 30 minutes,” CIA Director John Ratcliffe said at the Pennsylvania Summit on Defense and Innovation. Bloomberg reports his remarks.

“That is because AI-enabled drones have turned into such specialized, inexpensive killing machines,” he added.

While Russia has a significant manpower advantage over smaller Ukraine, Kyiv has limited Moscow’s advance in part thanks to innovations in various strike drones, the publication writes.

🔵U.S. officials estimate that the Russian army is losing about 7,000 soldiers per week. At the same time, Volodymyr Zelensky said that more than 80% of “enemy targets” are destroyed by drones.
