Former frontman of the band Tarakany! is selling his Russian passport

Dmitry Spirin announced this on Instagram after receiving Argentine citizenship:

Take a look, guys, at these two photos. In one of them I’m holding in my hand the so-called Documento Nacional de Identidad, my Argentine passport. And in the second photo, my Russian internal passport.

You may remember that a couple of weeks ago, in the post about how I went through the oath procedure and obtained Argentine citizenship, I asked you: so what should I do with my Russian passport?

And among the other ideas there was this one too: “why don’t you sell that Russian passport page by page on your social media, in a charity auction in support of Ukraine.”

Spirin said that this idea struck him as “elegant, symbolic, and right,” and that he wants to announce the rules of this auction.

In particular, he will sell the passport page by page, with the starting price for each page set at $50. And he promises to direct all the money to the needs of Davaite, a joint project of TV Rain, Meduza, and Support Service that helps Ukrainian civilians.

🔵In 2024, Spirin was added to the “foreign agents” list. In February 2026, a criminal case was opened against him for evading the duties of a “foreign agent.”

The Passport Found a Better Market

After Argentine citizenship, Spirin is auctioning his Russian passport page by page.

The document found a cleaner use at last.
