In Russia, the number of roundups of men aimed at sending them to war is growing

In just the first half of July, Russian security forces detained at least 37 men whom they tried to force into signing a contract with the Defense Ministry.

This is what Agentstvo writes, citing the human rights project Get Lost. That is more than in all of June, when no fewer than 27 people were detained.

The roundups have “become more frequent pretty much everywhere, there are signals coming from all over,” organization representative Ivan Chuvilyaev said in a conversation with Agentstvo. Among the regions from which reports came in, the human rights defender named Ulyanovsk, Penza, and Rostov regions, as well as Udmurtia.
