Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced his resignation.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced his resignation.
“It was a great honor to serve the Ukrainian people as defense minister [] I will continue working for the mission with which I came to the Ministry of Defense earlier: to defeat the enemy through asymmetry, the speed of innovation, and the power of organization,” he wrote on social media.
Fedorov became defense minister in January 2026; before that, he served as minister of digital transformation.
As Suspilne and Ukrainska Pravda report, the vacant post may be taken by Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, while Fedorov will remain on Zelensky’s team.
Resignation Without Leaving the Team
Ukraine’s defense minister Fedorov resigned and will stay on Zelensky’s team.
The mission stayed. The post did not.
