Russia has created a messenger app for prisoners.
An ad for the messenger app Tochka Kontakta appeared on the website of Zonatelecom, a service for communicating with prisoners, as First Department noticed.
According to the creators of the messenger, it will make it possible to exchange short text messages and letters, voice messages and video messages, as well as photographs and other files, with prisoners.
They will charge money for all of this. For example, a short text message of up to 200 characters costs a little over three rubles, while a letter of up to 2,500 characters costs 35 rubles. At the same time, every message will be checked by a censor (up to three business days).
The official website says the service is already being tested in three Russian penal colonies.
\Russia’s Justice Ministry has added the organization to the “foreign agents” register
Contact by Tariff and Censor
Prisoners got a paid messenger with censorship lasting up to three business days.
