Mobile internet has started being shut down in central Moscow. Residents of the capital are complaining en masse that they cannot open websites or send messages in messengers, MSK1 reports.

“Even SMS messages won’t send. And the ‘whitelists’ don’t work either,” the portal’s readers said.

Earlier, the Ministry of Digital Development had warned that on May 9, even access to “whitelists” would be restricted for security reasons.

Several streets in central Moscow have also been blocked off, and the metro stations Ploshchad Revolyutsii, Okhotny Ryad, Teatralnaya, Aleksandrovsky Sad, Borovitskaya, Arbatskaya, and Biblioteka im. Lenina are operating only for entry and transfers.

Connectivity Was Secured Out of Existence

Central Moscow lost mobile internet, with websites, messages, and even SMS failing.

Security worked mainly against communication.
